Short sellers stepped up bets across several names this week. WOLF (Wolfspeed) stands out as the most extreme case in the US large-cap space. Its SI % FF hit 86.5% — up 5.5 percentage points in just seven days. Availability is zero. Shares to borrow have dried up completely.
RDDT (Reddit) drew fresh attention from bears too. SI % FF climbed to 17.9%, up 4.2 points on the week. The $23B social media platform has become a popular short target as growth expectations face pressure.
CHWY carries 66% SI % FF but plenty of shares available to borrow (489% of SI). That combination keeps a short squeeze unlikely for now.
LUCK (Lucky Strike Entertainment) tops the short score chart at 94.5. CTB sits at 29.4% — an expensive bet to hold. Bears paying that kind of borrow premium are highly convicted.
GALT (Galectin Therapeutics) remains heavily shorted at , up 69% in price over three months. That divergence — rising price, rising short interest — sets up potential squeeze conditions.
FLWS (1-800-Flowers) carries 77.8% SI % FF with 30.7 days to cover. Bears are deeply committed. EPS momentum has cratered 80% in the last month.
Market sentiment is shifting toward greed territory today, per the Fear & Greed index. That backdrop makes heavily shorted names worth watching closely.
