Short interest moved sharply across several mid-cap US names in the week to 28 September, according to ORTEX data.
LCID saw the biggest recognisable move higher. Lucid Group's SI % of FF climbed to 58.1%, up 7.5 percentage points in seven days. Bears are not letting go of the EV maker.
CHWY moved the other way. Chewy's short interest fell 7.6 points to 65.6% of free float, the largest cover among mid-caps. That squeeze pressure remains real, with nearly two thirds of the float still short.
GLOB was the most notable mid-cap build. Globant's SI % FF rose 8.3 points to 29.5%. The IT services firm has faced questions over Latin American exposure.
GRPN sits at 71.3% of free float shorted. WOLF reaches 81.3%. Both remain heavily bet against.
SOUN carries 41.1% SI % FF. Social platforms have kept SoundHound AI in focus amid broader AI-stock chatter, with chip names dominating headlines after the S&P 500 closed lower on a chip rebound failure.
BA grabbed attention today after securing a $20bn Pentagon next-generation carrier fighter contract, potentially easing short pressure on the stock.
AFYA saw SI % FF jump 17.8 points to 28.5%, the sharpest rise among names with over $500m market cap after BRVE's technical anomaly.
