Bill Gates filed this week to have bought over $160 million in RSG stock. The Republic Services purchases spanned 17 separate transactions between August 14 and 19. Gates paid between $215 and $223 per share. It is one of his largest disclosed buying sprees of the year.
Meanwhile, the selling pressure at CHYM was intense. DST Global Advisors, a 10% owner and early backer of Chime Financial, filed to have offloaded nearly $354 million worth of shares. The VC firm sold across 56 transactions in less than a week. Chime only recently went public, making this a classic early-investor exit.
On the sell side, SYK board member Ronda Stryker — a founding family heir — filed sales of nearly $90 million in Stryker Corporation shares. The trades occurred on August 18 at around $335 per share.
Also notable: Kelcy Warren, the founder and Executive Chairman of ET, filed purchases of over $21 million in Energy Transfer units over two days. Warren bought at roughly $21.26 per unit. Insider buying from a founder at that scale typically signals strong personal conviction.
At MU, an EVP sold $14 million in Micron shares at $934 per share, adding to a broader pattern of executive sales as the stock trades near highs.
At AMR, director Kenneth Courtis filed buys totalling over $2.2 million in Alpha Metallurgical Resources, a coal miner under pressure from trade headwinds.
