Short sellers moved decisively this week. Reddit saw the biggest notable jump among liquid names. Its SI % FF rose to 17.6% from 13.5% in just seven days — a 4.2 percentage-point swing. Bears appear unconvinced by recent AI-driven ad revenue optimism.
Bath & Body Works is another new mover. SI % FF climbed to 10.8%, up 2.7 points week-on-week. The retailer faces margin pressure and weak consumer spending signals.
Wolfspeed remains the most shorted name of size, with 79.9% of free float sold short. Availability has hit zero — no shares left to borrow. That said, shorts did trim slightly, down 2.9 points from 82.8% last week. With the stock off 63% over three months, bears have largely won this trade.
Wix.com saw the sharpest short covering in the period. SI fell 3.7 points to 18.7%. also saw meaningful covering, dropping from 14.1% to 10.5% as AI chip sentiment stays volatile.
Groupon carries 73% SI % FF with a 29-day DTC — a classic squeeze setup. Chip stocks broadly slid Monday as the Nasdaq fell 200 points. Names like AMD and Micron are back in focus. Short sellers are watching carefully.
