Short sellers turned aggressive last week. The biggest mover was CHWY, with short interest jumping to 51.5% of free float — up 5 percentage points in just seven days. That is a striking build in a stock already crowded with bears.
WOLF also saw pressure mount. Wolfspeed's SI hit 74.9% of FF, adding 3.6 points on the week. The semiconductor name remains one of the most heavily shorted mid-caps in the US market.
Elsewhere, KNX (Knight-Swift) saw short interest nearly double from 6% to 10.9% of free float in a week. That is a fast move in a large-cap trucking stock.
WIX and TENB (Tenable Holdings) also appeared as new short-side entrants. Wix jumped from 11.1% to 15.8% FF shorted. Tenable rose from 9% to 13.4%.
On the squeeze-watch list, HTZ holds 61.9% of FF shorted. (Lucky Strike) carries a short score of 94 with DTC near 25 days — shares available to borrow are just 40% of short interest.
Bears also targeted semiconductors broadly. Put flow piled into MU and NVDA late in the session Monday, per ORTEX options data. NIO added 0.8 points to reach 7.3% shorted.
