Short sellers made bold moves last week. The biggest surge came in KNX (Knight-Swift Transportation). Its SI % of Free Float nearly doubled, jumping from 5.95% to 10.94% in just seven days. That's a +5 percentage point spike — the largest move among stocks above $500M market cap.
Student loan giant SLM also drew fresh shorts. Its SI % FF rose from 9.55% to 14.17%, up +4.6 points. The move comes as bond yields climb globally — UK 30-year gilts hit 5.82% this week, putting pressure on lenders.
CHWY (Chewy) stays under intense pressure. SI % FF sits at 51.3%, up +4.4 points over the week. With availability at 537%, there is still plenty of borrow supply to push positions higher.
WOLF (Wolfspeed) remains the most shorted large-cap semiconductor. At 74.8% SI % FF, the stock fell nearly 49% over three months. Zero share availability signals shorts have a firm grip.
On the squeeze side, GME shorts covered hard. SI % FF fell from 14.9% to 8.9% — a -6 point drop in one week. GameStop bulls will note that.
LUCK (Lucky Strike Entertainment) carries the highest short score at 95.4 with DTC of 24.7 days. Any positive catalyst could spark a sharp reversal.
