Insider filings from early September show a sharp split between conviction buying at the executive level and a major institutional stake unwind in Japan.
The clearest cluster came from Hong Kong-listed Xinyi Glass (868). The founder and chairman Lee Yin Yee filed a $3.3m purchase on September 4, the same week CEO Tung Ching Sai disclosed two separate open-market buys totalling $3.4m. The Executive Vice Chairman added a further $550,000. Three senior insiders buying the same stock in the same week is an unusually strong signal. Filings showed prices between HK$8.63 and HK$9.00 per share.
Across at Uber, President and COO Andrew MacDonald filed two discretionary purchases on September 8, together worth roughly $5.3m at prices around $75.65 to $76.44 per share. No 10b5-1 pre-plan was declared, making this an open-market bet by one of the company's most senior operators.
On the sell side, Japan's LINTEC Corporation (7966) saw its largest shareholder, Nippon Paper Industries, file two substantial disposals. The first, reported August 28, was worth $184.8m. A second tranche filed September 8 added another $397m. Combined, the paper maker has now shed around $581m of its LINTEC position, reducing its stake to just 3.7% of the company.
Meanwhile, ROBOTIS CEO Kim Byeong Soo filed a $75m sale of shares on September 8, a high-value disposal from the top executive of the South Korean robotics firm.
