Citigroup's analysts cut price targets across at least six names on Thursday, sweeping from defence contractors to freight carriers and specialty chemicals.
The sharpest defence move hit LDOS. Analyst John Godyn trimmed his target on Leidos to $141 from $161, a $20 drop, while keeping a Buy rating. He also cut GD to $374 from $404, moving to a Hold. General Dynamics carries a $89.5bn market cap, and the consensus target has slipped to $415 from $420 in recent weeks.
On transport, Ariel Rosa cut UPS to $122 from $132 and UNP to $338 from $349, both retaining Buy ratings. He also trimmed NSC to $347 from $376 on a Hold.
Patrick Cunningham handled the chemicals sweep. IFF dropped to $100 from $101, DD fell to $162 from $170, and APD was cut to $312 from $330. All three kept existing ratings.
Away from Citi, STZ saw its consensus target edge down to $159 from $161. Constellation Brands carries short interest of 5.5% of free float, a modest level suggesting the market is not aggressively positioned against it despite the rating pressure.
Morgan Stanley's consensus target ticked up to $224 from $223, a rare bright spot in an otherwise downward session for Street targets.
