Analysts trimmed targets across utilities and defence sectors Thursday, while energy and industrials saw selective upgrades.
Six utility names took coordinated target price cuts. WEC, ED, SRE, PEG, FE, and AEP all saw consensus targets edged lower. The moves were modest, ranging from roughly 20 to 40 cents per stock. Analysts appear to be recalibrating rate-sensitive names as bond yields stay elevated.
Defence names also took hits. saw its average consensus target cut from $621 to $619. dropped from $1,427 to $1,419. fell from $319 to $317. slipped from $327 to $325. The pattern points to a broad sector reassessment rather than any single stock story.
The standout upgrade went to BE. Bloom Energy's consensus target rose from $283 to nearly $285, a rare positive move in an otherwise cautious session. The fuel cell maker has attracted growing attention as data centre power demand builds.
FAST also got a lift. Fastenal's consensus target crept up from $49.84 to $50.22 after the industrial supplier posted solid September same-store sales data.
BAC saw multiple changes from different analysts. The average target slipped from $65.23 to $64.23. One analyst moved to hold from buy. That shift may reflect caution ahead of the bank's earnings call next week, where net interest margin guidance will be closely watched.
