Canada sold 150,161 new trucks in August 2026, according to Canadian vehicle registration data ingested by ORTEX. That is the largest August figure in records going back to 2002, beating the previous best of 145,110 set just a year earlier. Within that total, zero-emission vehicle sales jumped 55% year-on-year to 22,716 units, against 14,643 in August 2025. The two readings together describe a market that is growing in volume and shifting in composition at the same time.
The UK economy added its own record to the pile. The ONS monthly GDP index reached 103.1 in August 2026, per the ORTEX macro feed. That is the highest August reading since the series began in 1997, up from 102.0 a year earlier. Set against it, EU HICP inflation has risen for three consecutive months, reaching 3.8% in September 2026. Poland's HICP has done the same, hitting 4.0%. US airport data from the ORTEX traffic feed shows international seats flown and domestic passengers enplaned have each risen for three straight months through July 2026.
Not every reading points upward. Auto-loan delinquency data from US consumer credit trust filings, tracked by ORTEX, shows GM delinquencies running 1.2 standard deviations above the peer-trust group as of 29 September 2026. HMC sits on the other side of that divide, with delinquencies 0.8 standard deviations below the peer group on the same date. The contrast is a live signal on the credit quality of each company's loan book.
On 15 October, a PCG reactor posted output 10.0 standard deviations below its own history. That reading, from nuclear generation data tracked by ORTEX, is a severe outlier. The cause is not given in the dataset, but a reading of that magnitude warrants attention.
Four auto companies report within the next seven days, and ORTEX has measured leading relationships between vehicle registration data and their reported revenue figures.
German car registrations data leads GM revenue by 15 days, a strong fit. With all three months of the quarter in, that series is running 133% above the same quarter last year. GM reports on 20 October.
TSLA reports on 21 October. German car registrations, which lead Tesla revenue by 43 days with a strong fit, are running 269% above year-ago levels for the full quarter. That is where the data points so far; it is not a revenue forecast.
RNO reports 22 October. Austrian car registrations, a moderate-fit lead of 32 days, are running 6% above the same quarter last year. Dutch car registrations, also a moderate fit but leading by 43 days, are running 19% below year-ago levels. Both series have all three months in.
VOLCAR B reports 23 October. Finnish car registrations, a moderate-fit 22-day lead, are running 9% below year-ago levels. India registration data, a moderate-fit lead of 56 days, points 9% above. All three months are in for both series.
