Semiconductor names are dominating options desks today. Micron and SanDisk led negative options bets among large-caps this week, as both stocks fell sharply alongside a broader Nasdaq 100 slide. The two names sit at RSIs of 39 and 34 respectively, deep into oversold territory.
NVIDIA also ranked high in negative options flow. It is down from 2026 highs despite a $5.3 trillion market cap. Bearish positioning has built steadily even as analysts maintain a consensus price target 51% above current levels.
Earnings risk is front of mind for options traders. Tesla reports on 21 October. German car sales data tracked by ORTEX, a dataset with a 43-day lead on Tesla revenue and a strong historical fit, is running 269% ahead of the same quarter last year across three consecutive months. That reading points to a strong quarter, though it is not a forecast of the print or the share price.
General Motors reports 20 October. Its German car registration data is running 133% above last year's comparable period. Options sentiment on GM has been softer, however. ORTEX consumer credit data shows GM auto-loan delinquencies sitting 1.2 standard deviations above the trust peer group as of late September, a risk that may be weighing on call appetite.
CoreWeave carries the highest short score among the week's most heavily traded names at 64.5. It has 3.2 days to cover and its RSI has slipped to 35. Put interest has been building here since the stock failed to recover its IPO-year highs.
One name worth watching for forced selling is Fabrinet. ORTEX Index Rebalance Radar shows its MSCI World deletion probability jumped from 8% to 49% overnight. The ranking cut-off is 19 October. Index trackers linked to MSCI World would face $826M of forced selling if deletion is confirmed, equal to 2.4 days of average volume.
