Chip Puts Dominate as Cybercab Buzz Builds

Options flow in the semiconductor space has turned decisively bearish over the past week. Micron Technology, NVIDIA, and Advanced Micro Devices sit at the top of the negative bets table by dollar value. All three carry RSIs below 42, suggesting the put pressure has been building for several sessions. NVDA's analyst return potential sits at 52%, yet the options market appears to be fading that optimism in the near term.

That caution stands in some contrast to the macro backdrop. Taiwan export orders hit $114.2bn in September 2026, up 62% on the year and the largest September reading on record since 1984. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSM) is a direct beneficiary of that demand surge, and its stock score of 91 is the highest among chip names in the screen.

On the bullish side, Tesla is drawing attention ahead of its Q3 results. Cybercab deliveries before year-end are now in focus after fresh reports that the fleet will be primarily company-owned. Tesla's RSI sits at 53.7, neutral territory, but the stock is down 16.9% year-to-date.

Among S&P 500 names, Centene carries the highest options score this week. Its RSI of 65.8 and 72% year-to-date gain suggest call activity has been building on momentum. EOG Resources is another standout, with 4.1 days to cover and a rising RSI of 69.7, likely attracting upside positioning as oil stays elevated.

Index rebalance risk adds another layer. PBF Energy sits 0.2% below the Russell 2000 exit line with the 30 October rank date approaching. The outcome could shift $1.5bn of forced flows, making short-dated options on PBF a live event trade before month-end.
