Options activity is tilting toward calls this Thursday, with several names showing clean bullish sweeps into a heavy earnings calendar. The pattern is clearest in names where the market has already taken a view.

Ingevity stands out for an unusual reason. ORTEX data shows its options skew has turned unusually bullish even as the stock lags its chemicals peers. The nearest expiry is 20 November. Traders are positioning ahead of a Q3 print. The ORTEX options score is tilted positive, an atypical read for a mid-cap that has been persistently behind its sector this year.

Charter Communications faces a different setup. ORTEX's Index Rebalance Radar puts deletion odds from MSCI World at 71%, with $901M of forced selling on the table if that call lands on 11 November. The options chain runs through to January 2027. Near-dated puts on the 6 November expiry will catch any announcement-day move.

Mosaic carries 73% S&P 500 deletion odds at the December quarterly review, per ORTEX forecasting. With the trade date set for 18 December at a projected 17.8 times normal volume, the January 2027 expiry sits squarely around that event window.

In semiconductors, Microchip Technology has the densest near-term expiry stack of the chip names, with contracts running weekly through December. NVIDIA options extend to January 2027. Its RSI sits at 33, technically oversold territory. Analysts see 63% upside on average. Both set up for volatility around earnings.

Broadly, the 7-day options score is highest at defensive names. Prologis, Automatic Data Processing and Colgate-Palmolive each show 100% positive options flow in the past week. That defensive tilt sits uneasily alongside elevated eurozone inflation (4.0% in October, a three-year high), which could keep rate pressure alive and test real estate and dividend trades in the weeks ahead.
