The bull case rests on Eaton's structural positioning in electrical infrastructure — data center demand, grid modernisation, and electric vehicle buildouts — all themes that drove the July earnings beat. The forward EPS growth score ranks in the 98th percentile of the universe, an exceptional reading that explains why the Street keeps lifting targets. Against that, the bear case centres on valuation and margin pressure. EV/EBITDA sits at 20x and the P/E at 27x, with the EV/EBIT factor score ranking in just the 21st percentile — stretched relative to most industrials peers. Commodity cost pressures in copper, aluminium, and steel remain a live concern. Close peers NVT and VRT both fell roughly 4.5% on Friday alone, suggesting the broader electrical equipment group absorbed a common macro headwind into the weekend rather than anything Eaton-specific.

On the insider side, the net picture over the past 90 days is dominated by a large sell from division COO Heath Monesmith — roughly $8.3 million of stock sold on August 11 at prices around $458, well above where the stock trades now.
