Insiders Buy Housing, Sell Cloud Stocks

Open-market filings over the past month show a clear split in US boardroom conviction. Buying is clustering in financial services and housing. Selling is heaviest in high-flying tech names.

Corebridge Financial tops the US large-cap insider buying list for the past month. Directors at the AIG-spun insurance group have been adding shares as the stock climbs 15% year to date. Simon Property Group shows the second-strongest insider buying momentum among stocks above $1bn in market cap, with executives stepping in even as real estate faces rate pressure.

On the buy side in housing, Lennar is notable. Insiders have been purchasing shares despite the stock falling 15% year to date and short sellers holding firm. Lennar carries a short score of 61 and 7.4 days to cover, with bears clearly betting against the homebuilder. That insider buying, against heavy short interest, is a contrast worth watching.

The sell side tells a different story. Dell Technologies leads large-cap insider disposals over the past month. Snowflake, Arista Networks, and Nebius Group also appear in the top sellers list. All four have risen sharply in 2026, giving executives strong prices to exit into.

Apple insiders are selling too, though the stock is up 27% year to date and remains heavily discussed on social media following news of an iPhone Siri settlement payout.

The housing-versus-tech divide in boardroom behaviour broadly matches the market mood. ORTEX data shows bears piling into housing and auto stocks this week, making the insider buying at Lennar and Simon Property Group a direct counter-signal to the short-seller thesis.
